Who we are
We are SPS
Established in 1999, Samajik Parivartan Sansthan (SPS) is a grassroots nonprofit development organisation working with vulnerable and marginalised communities in Jharkhand. Our work spans Giridih, Bokaro and Dhanbad districts of Jharkhand.

Our story
Inspired by Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Narayan and the Sampurna Kranti concept, young social activists with experience in education and social development across Jharkhand and Bihar came together to work at the grassroots.
Established in 1999 under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, SPS works through education, advocacy, research and social action to promote social inclusion, equity, integrity, dignity and equality.
Who we work with
We work with children, adolescents, youth, women, and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities to strengthen access to education, livelihoods, basic services, rights and entitlements, and community institutions.
Our vision
To reestablish a pristine, elegant, harmonious, and classless society in which everyone can benefit from adequate opportunities for employment and a dignified lifestyle without any discrimination based on gender, religion, caste, or creed.
Our mission
To disseminate initiatives such as community organisation, education, training, sensitisation, capacity and capability building for the development of society, with a focus on the most vulnerable groups.
Our approach
Sustainable change begins when communities participate in identifying their challenges, developing solutions and taking collective action.
