Household handwashing taps respond to water scarcity in Tisri villages

Household handwashing tap in Tisri project area
SPS’s Community Empowerment Project, supported by the Responsible Mica Initiative, worked in ten villages of Tisri block where residents faced serious water shortages. During the COVID-19 pandemic, regular handwashing was difficult when families had to collect water from far away.

SPS supported the use of locally available household materials to install simple handwashing taps. The update reported that families were using the taps at home. The practical response connected hygiene advice with the reality of limited water access.
